What is Elder Law?  This is a common question.  Susan E. Johnson-Drenth is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) with the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF).  Susan E. Johnson-Drenth is also the Chair of the Elder Law Section of the State Bar Association of North Dakota.

Every Elder Law attorney is an estate planner.  However, not every estate planner is an Elder Law attorney.

Additionally, an Elder Law attorney assists individuals with disabilities to create and use Special Needs Trusts (from inheritance, litigation settlements, etc.) to maintain government program eligibility (Medicaid and SSI).
